ABOUT
Jeanie Starr is an Emmy Award-winning writer and executive producer who turns her love of learning and passion for people into high-impact, high-quality branding content.
As a Multiplatform Director at CBS News Baltimore, all of Starr's initiatives achieve a three-pronged goal: to engage audiences with meaningful and informative stories, to raise brand awareness through engagement, and to cement the station's identity as the market's premier community news station.
Named a Rising Star of Women Leaders in Media, Starr previously led a team of video editors for the financial publisher, The Oxford Club, which specializes in digital content and social media marketing. She even worked on Hollywood productions as an assistant to the stars, coordinating the professional and sometimes personal lives of celebrities including Dame Helen Mirren, Gerard Butler and Bradley Cooper.
A South Jersey native, she earned her BA in Film and Media Arts at Temple University in Philadelphia, where she received the Benjamin Lazaroff Scholarship Award for screenwriting.
No stranger to the camera, Starr brings over 15 years of hands-on production experience to her work. She can produce, shoot, and edit her own scripts or direct a film crew. She has even played "TV Host" on local access cable.
But the most important skill in her production toolkit has always been her ability to lead. At CBS Baltimore, she brings together the news department, art, sales and even engineering to execute innovative ideas while capitalizing on their strengths and resources.
For Starr, the ever-changing media landscape is a constant opportunity to innovate as she meets the ever-changing needs of her audience.
